Pleasanton Public Schools Among Top in State in 2017 Best Schools Rankings

Pleasanton schools continue to excel and rank among the top in California according to 2017 Best School Rankings from Niche, a website that rates K-12 schools, colleges and neighborhoods.

The Pleasanton Unified School District (PUSD) ranked 13 in California and 7 in the San Francisco (SF) Metro area for public schools. As a testament to Pleasanton’s educators, PUSD ranked 10 statewide and 5 in the SF Metro area for best teachers. PUSD also made a strong showing as a top destination for teachers in the Bay Area at 7 for Niche's ratings for best places to teach.

“These ratings are a testament to the continued excellence, quality, and character of our schools,” said Interim Superintendent Micaela Ochoa. “This achievement is shared by our incredible educators, staff, students, families and Pleasanton community.”

Both of PUSD’s comprehensive high schools ranked top 50 in the state out of 1,753 for public high schools (Amador Valley High School at 24 and Foothill High School at 48). All three PUSD middle schools ranked among the top 15 public middle schools in California (Pleasanton Middle School at 7, Harvest Park at 8, and Hart Middle School at 13).

The Niche 2017 K-12 Rankings are based on an analysis of academic and student life data from the U.S. Department of Education along with test scores, college data, and ratings collected from millions of Niche users.
