District English Language Advisory Committee (DELAC)

Each California public school district, grades kindergarten through 12, with 51 or more English learners must form a District-level English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) or subcommittee of an existing district-wide advisory committee.
 

The purpose of the DELAC, or subcommittee on English learner education, is to advise the district’s local governing board (e.g., in person, by letters/reports) on programs and services for English learners.

District English Learner Advisory Committee meeting!

PUSD informs parents/guardians on how they can be involved in the education of their children and be active participants in assisting children to:

  • Attain English proficiency

  • Achieve at high levels in core academic subjects

  • Meet challenging state academic standards expected of all students to make them college and career ready.

AGENDA:  

  1. Welcome, introductions, review agenda, additions to the agenda
  2. Approval of the Minutes from the previous DELAC Meeting,
  3. Review purpose of DELAC
  4. Review and revise Bylaws
  5. English Learner Assessments and Programs in Pleasanton USD
  6. Input from parents/guardians of English Learners

Interpreters and Child Care will be available
