Pleasanton, California– The Pleasanton Board of Trustees voted unanimously during their February 9 meeting to hire EMC Research, an Oakland-based market opinion and research company, to conduct a community poll of Pleasanton voters to gauge interest on a potential bond measure, the district’s first in nearly 20 years.
The survey will include a sample of 400 Pleasanton voters. Survey results will inform the district of community support for major projects that may be included in a potential bond program including student safety and security, building modernizations, infrastructure upgrades, seismic upgrades for earthquake safety and kindergarten classroom improvements. The district expects to present the survey results during the March 26 board meeting.
The district has formed a survey committee including two board members, parent and community representatives as well as district staff. The committee will provide feedback on survey questions and review results.
“We are thrilled to engage with our survey committee and EMC Research as we gather community input on major projects needed to support the safety, security and success of our students,” said Pleasanton USD Interim Superintendent Jim Hansen.
