Seven PUSD Elementary and Middle Schools Recognized for Implementation of PBIS

Congratulations to our seven PUSD elementary and middle schools have been recognized for their work in the implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) by the California PBIS Coalition!

This statewide recognition is awarded to schools that have achieved high levels of support and success in the implementation of PBIS, a framework that promotes positive, safe, consistent and predictable learning environments for all students.

Hart and Pleasanton Middle School were honored with the California PBIS Coalition 2017-2018 Bronze PBIS Implementation Award. Alisal, Fairlands, Lydiksen, Valley View and Vintage Hills Elementary Schools were recognized with the Silver PBIS Implementation Award. Recognition levels include Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze.

PUSD’s implementation of PBIS is supported by a team of District Office staff and school-site based PBIS teams. These teams have led the successful creation and implementation of positively stated school-wide rules as well as an acknowledgement and reward system for positive behaviors. Implementation is supported by staff development and trainings created and led by District and school-site PBIS teams.

“We’d like to thank all of our District and school site staff whose hard work and dedication have supported the successful implementation of PBIS in our schools,” said Assistant Superintendent of Student Support Services Ed Diolazo. “This recognition is a testament to the great work taking place in our schools toward the efforts of creating positive learning environments for all students.”
