District Wide Classroom Technology Project

Fall 2021 was very busy for the classroom technology project - we completed installation of the visual-display portion of the project (viewboards & projectors) at all primary grades.  As of December 2021, the remaining sites are Amador Valley HS and Foothill HS along with a handful of classrooms at the Middle Schools that have yet to receive the new equipment. Running parallel is the ongoing roll out of the audio-enhancement devices and document cameras.  This technology was a challenge to get with the global supply chain disruptions but due to early action and planning, the District was able to receive the vast majority of the equipment.  
September 12, 2020:
The distribution of devices for the first three years of this plan has been completed.  During this period, all 6th-12th grade students have been offered a take-home device, and more than 1300 devices were distributed to support elementary students who are engaged in Distance Learning.  All teacher Devices have been distributed.  The pilot room is being tested by our educators.  The construction and IT team are working closely with all sites to design their roll out and determine the best options for their site.  We anticipate installation to begin in the beginning of 2021.
Project Information
The procurement and roll out of the student devices is already underway.  A Pilot program for staff to test either the projector option or movable flat panel will be completed by the end of 2020.  Installation of the selected option will begin in 2021 and be completed by 2023.
This project has a multifaceted approach to providing current technologies in PUSD's classrooms.  The first is the roll out of devices for student use.  The second is installation of new technology in the classroom.  This will install either a mobile interactive flat panel teaching station or a fixed interactive projector in every classroom in the district.
