The Facilities and Construction Department oversees architectural services, construction & bid information, new construction & modernization projects, construction project accounting, and interim housing.
The Facilities and Construction Department leads efforts surrounding Measure I1, the District's general obligation bond passed by Pleasanton voters in November 2016, as well as Proposition 39, California Clean Energy Jobs Act projects.
The Facilities and Construction Department is located on the Pleasanton Unified School District Office site at the corner of Bernal Avenue and First Street.

On November 8, 2016 Pleasanton voters passed Measure I1, the District's first general obligation bond in nearly 20 years which authorized the sale of up to $270M in bonds.

Measure I1 Citizen's Bond Oversight Committee
As the result of the passage of Measure I1, the District formed an independent oversight committee that will assist in ensuring bond revenues are expended only for the purposes outlined in the bond project list approved by Pleasanton voters in November 2016.

California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act (CUPCCAA)
On March 14, 2017 the PUSD Board of Trustees voted to become subject under the CUPCCAA programs and procedures. These procedures allow for an increase in bid limits when formal bidding is required.
With the passage of Bond Measure I1, District staff anticipates that there will be projects that qualify for informal bidding under CUPCCAA. Informal bidding does not require advertising, so the timeline to award a bid and start work is decreased.
