Today, Pleasanton Unified School District serves over 14,500 students in nine elementary schools, three middle schools, two comprehensive high schools and one continuation high school and one high school for school age mothers and fathers.

Eligible new teachers participate in the Tri-Valley Teacher Induction Project (TV/TIP). The TV/TIP program provides intensive coaching and training to new teachers based on the California Standards for the Teaching Profession. TV/TIP training helps to improve instruction for Pleasanton’s students through high-quality teacher training and professional development.
Bargaining Unit Information
The District recognizes the Association of Pleasanton Teachers (APT) as the sole representative of all non-management employees requiring a credential. All issues related to wages, hours, and working conditions must be formally bargained before the district can implement them.

Pleasanton Unified School District does not pay for employee health and welfare benefits. Full-time employees are required to purchase medical health benefits or provide proof of alternate health coverage (ie from spouse or other party). Certificated employees working 50% or more must purchase health benefits or provide proof of alternate health coverage. Less than half-time employees are not eligible to participate in medical health benefits. Health benefit costs are 100% employee paid through a pre-tax payroll deduction.
Dental coverage is mandatory for all employees working 20 hours per week, or more, regardless of outside coverage. Less than half-time employees are not eligible to participate in dental coverage.
