Background
There are several goals driving the Alisal Elementary School Modernization project. The primary goal is to address deficient campus amenities including an undersized library, multi-purpose room and aging classrooms. The Alisal Elementary School campus was originally built in the 1950s. The library, multi purpose room and other core facilities are undersized for the current student population. In addition, the District would like to improve the pickup drop off process and increase parking on the campus. This will benefit the community by pulling cars off of congested roads and ensuring that our staff can park on District property, not in the neighborhood.
Spring 2026 Update
We have held site committee meetings on March 3, April 13 and April 29. These meetings help identify project needs and allow the school community to provide feedback as the design progresses weighing in on location of buildings, building layouts, restroom locations, playground ammenities, etc.
We held two meetings open to the community. The first meeting was held on May 19 and the second meeting was held on June 17. The goal of these meetings was to inform the community about the project and provide an opportunity to offer feedback and ask questions.
Community Concerns and Traffic
Following the community meetings, District staff have received several emails related to the traffic barricade at Valley. This barricade is managed by the City of Pleasanton. Pleasanton Unified School District does not have any plans to ask the City to remove the barricade.
