Elementary (Pre-K-5)
TK-5 Academic Calendar
Each year Pleasanton Unified School District establishes an academic calendar for all grade levels. The academic calendar for our elementary schools (grades K-5) provides information on holidays, first and last day of school, parent conference dates, minimum days and teacher staff development days. The calendar also indicates the beginning and end of the three trimesters which make up the school year, progress report dates and report card dates. View the Academic Calendar for the current school year.
TK-12 State Standards
In Pleasanton Unified School District our curriculum and instructional programs are directly aligned to the California State Frameworks and Standards. State Frameworks have been in existence since 1983 and outline in more general terms what good instruction is in each of the curricular areas. The Frameworks also describe the specific programs, strategies, materials, professional development and assessments needed for a particular subject area. The Standards on the other hand provide grade by grade specific learning skills and learning outcomes that are to be achieved. Visit the California Department of Education website, which has posted all State Frameworks and Standards documents.

Promotional/Retention/At Risk
Each school district in California is required to have in place policies for students in grades K–8 regarding promotion, retention and what steps schools and teachers will take for students who are at-risk. Our policies include criteria for identification, timelines, forms for the development of intervention plans as well as appeal forms. Please click here to view information about our policy as well as the forms used for the processes.
